The Pan-Asian Society of Surgical Excellence (PASSE) and the Asian Federation of Rehabilitation Surgeons (AFRS), founded in 2020, are international, academic and non-profit professional academic organizations voluntarily formed by surgeons and related enterprises and institutions. Both organizations have long been committed to conducting continuing education in surgery technique and rehabilitation therapy, promoting the progression of surgical innovation and post-operative recovery, and enhancing the academic level of surgery technique and rehabilitation therapy across Asia. At present, PASSE and AFRS collectively have over 25,000 individual members and nearly 150 corporate members or strategic partners. Among them, individual members come from practicing physicians, nurses and allied health professionals engaged in surgery technique and rehabilitation therapy related positions across the Asia-Pacific region, while corporate members include well-known enterprises, institutions and professional media both domestically and internationally.

For the past several years, PASSE and AFRS have resolutely implemented major decisions and plans of relevant health authorities, adhered to the fundamental tenet of unity, collaboration and pragmatism, and the guiding principles of academic research, public welfare and dedication. With the working philosophy of service, coordination and guidance, they have widely united and served surgeons across Asia as well as related enterprises and institutions. They carry out academic activities in all aspects and from multiple perspectives, organize continuing education in surgery technique and rehabilitation therapy for medical practitioners, edit and publish medical academic journals, popularize medical scientific knowledge, and undertake some work transferred from government functions.

With the continuous development of both organizations' causes and the continuous expansion and improvement of their functions, they have now become the most active professional academic organizations in the field of surgery technique and rehabilitation therapy in Asia. They have the advantages and characteristics of gathering talents, concentrating intelligence, having smooth information flow, strong cohesion and abundant creativity. They are among the most well-known and authoritative medical science and technology academic groups in Asia, and have a profound influence on the international surgery technique and rehabilitation therapy community.
